My friends and I purchased the tickets for the Great Food Tour through Groupon and thought, hey, for $20, if it sucks, we'll just walk off the tour. Not the case!

We were greeted by our tour guide Jason at the meeting spot and immediately could tell he was fun - super easy going and friendly. By the first stop, we knew we had made a critical error: eating lunch first. There was so much food! Not being from Chicago, it was a great way to not only sample food but also find out about restaurants we normally would not have tried (or known existed). Pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, tacos, paninis, cupcakes - all delicious!

We never felt rushed at any of the spots and there was even time to order and enjoy margaritas with our tacos. By the end of the tour, we literally had a bag full of food to take with us (and due to the smell of the leftover Chicago hotdogs, I'm sure the fridge in our hotel room will never be the same). Also, I can't rave enough about Jas (yes, after being with him for just mere moments, we decided we were close enough to give him a nickname like we were old chums - that's just how much fun he was). I would definitely recommend!

This is for the Chocolate tour, which was a ton of fun (I mean, come on, it's chocolate!!!). I was with a good group of people and the tour guide, Greg, was really nice and informative. He had alot of fun facts about the places we went to as well as facts about buildings we passed, which made the in-between walking parts more interesting. 6 stops with treats at each one. Vosages was a total highlight and the cupcakes from More are the BEST in the city. If you like chocolate and walking, you'll have a blast.

I took the new Great Food Tour of Chicago. My friend and I had an excellent time. Our tour guide was very friendly, funny and informative. There was plenty of food to eat and everything was delicious. We even had food left over to take home. We had fun at each place, especially Su Casa where we had our own private room and enough time that we all had one of their amazing margaritas. Well worth the $25 a ticket we spent. Highly recommended.

  4. Great Tour

We enjoyed our tour with Isis... she was a great guide and extremely pleasant and fun. She dealt with a "know-it-all" complainer that tried to take over the tour with grace and humor. It was one of the hottest days of the year and she made it very fun and was extremely approachable. The chocolatiers were very gracious and accommodating. And the treats they provided were amazing!!!
  5. Good for discount price

I enjoyed the varied selections on the tour. Some of the samples were quite small but others were very generous like Goddess. I also liked that we were offered to have any extras that were left. However, our guide skipped Godiva (don't know why) and it would have been helpful to have a list (and information) on each tour stop printed for our reference. Good for the $20 amazon local price but wouldn't have thought so if I paid $50.
